foundraiser idea

Today Ms. Savido game me a handout about foundraisers. I had been thinking about what type of foundraiser i want to do. I didnt know if i wanted to do a bake sale or a donation type thing, But then i was on the internet and i found a great idea. The idea that i found was to have a dress down day but in order for the students/teachers to dress down they have to buy a ticket(price undecided) and pin it or desplay in somewhere visable. I thought it would be a good idea because the students are always complaining about how they wish they had a day when they could just dress down. There would be some sort of rules about what is acceptable and what is not if they dress down. If i really want to go through with this idea i would probrably have to go to Dr. Wartheimer or Mr. Zinga and tell them my idea. I think that they would possibly O.K it because all the proceeds are going to go to a good cause. I guess we shall see....

emails

I sent emails to to a few places about volunteering for my senior project. I didnt really expect to get anything back, but yesterday i checked my email and i noticed two emails from names i didnt recognize. I almost deleted them without reading them but i thought i should look at them just in case i needed those emails. When i read them they were from people that i had sent emails to about any volunteering opportunites that were available. The emails said that they would we more than happy to place me with their organization but that i would have to fill out an application and that i would have to get my clearances(but i already have them). Im trying to figure out what i want the outcome of my project to be and if i want to either volunteer, participate in a walk, conduct some type of fundraiser, or if i want to combine all of those into one.

proposal

Right now im in the process of trying answer the question on the proposal. Its tough to answer the questions because im not completely sure of what action i am going to do with my topic. Im looking at trying to get involved with Easter Seals in Pittsburgh somehow by volunteering, donating money, or somehow getting involved. I am also looking at trying to find someone at Easter Seals or a special education teacher to interview for my project. Im going to keep looking, getting my work done and more importantly staying on track and focused!

Byonetics a cure for autism?

At the end of class on Wednesday and today i have found that there is a so called "cure" for Autism called Byonetics. It has been said that it works but others are still skeptical about Byonetics. Byonetics is basically a DVD that you put in for your child to watch and it is supposed to help lessen the symptoms of Autism. One downside to this is that Byoneticsf is costly but it is said to be worth the money in the long run. I wonder if this TRULY is the cure for Autism and that there are no side affects or downsides to this??

new thought

I am working on completing my collage and my articles....while i was reading one of the articles i read that one of the kids had did their project on aroma therapy. I thought that was a different idea. Im starting to think that i might want to change my topic because i believe that there could possibly be more things for me to do with the aroma therapy topic....I guess that it sometihing new that i need to think about before its too late to change my topic...if it isnt already too late.

austism walk...

I read about the autism walk that pittsburgh hosted at Heinz Field in June for a foundation called austim speaks. If this is the topic that i choose i would like to volunteer in any way that i could. I also read about the different severities of autism. My hopes with this project would be to get a team together to walk in the autism walk and also to have some type of foundraiser.

indecisive

I still cant decide on a senior project.....I'm trying to find a topic that is very creative and no one has done before. I had the idea to get people to donate prom dresses/formal dresse and tuxedos to a foundation called Becca's closet. This foundation was origionally created to give prom dresses to girls that couldnt afford them. Today it has extended its generosity to boys that couldnt afford tuxedos for prom tuxedos. They also started giving out scholarships. I think that it is a good cause but i just want to be sure that it is a topic that i will be able to work on for the next 2 years.....

need to get my creative juices flowing!!!ASAP

Im still in the process of trying to figure out the topic of my graduation project. When i was talking to my mom about my senior project last year she came up with the idea of me talking about the Pittsburgh Promise and how it isnt fair that i dont qualify for it. Now knowing what is required of me for my graduation project i dont think that that topic would work. I also thought of the idea of interior design and i thought that i would design a room in my house. Now that i think about it it would be sorta costly and i dont think that i could afford it unless i started some kind of foundraiser or had my mom or dad help fund it. Im going to have to think of something and quick!
